History and evolution of the vineyard

Developed since the 12th century, the vineyard formed with the vineyards of Marignan, the domain of the Abbey of Notre-Dame-de-Filly. Following a donation, the Crépy hillside became the property of Richard de Ballaison. As soon as the vineyard was created, the monks proceeded to the selection of the best plants and to precise vinification processes that are still used today. It is since this time that the reputation of this wine exists and still does today. The AOC "Crépy" is one of the oldest appellations, it dates back to 1948, when there were only 50 ha of vines, today the vineyard extends over 90 HA.

Terroirs

The wines of Crépy obtained during the Universal Exhibition of 1894, a diploma of honor following the phylloxera crisis. An anecdote tells that this wine was served during an official meal to the Queen of England, Elizabeth II, at the castle of Celle-Saint-Cloud in 1957.
