History and evolution of the vineyard

As is often the case in the valley, Cruet's vines have been cultivated since Roman times. Being part of the ancient vineyards of the foothills of the Massifs des Bauges, it is during the social upheaval of the vineyard initiated by the revolution and the phylloxera epidemic, that the crumbling of the large domains was undertaken. Thus, the lands found new owners who cultivated the vine while keeping their profession of breeder. The production started again in 1893 and reached its maximum expansion in 1913. The AOC was recognized in 1973.

Terroirs

Located in the heart of the Combe de Savoy, the vineyard is situated on the southern slope of the Massif des Bauges. In addition to a favorable exposure, the soils are diversified: old glacial moraines, limestone scree and alluvial fans.
