History and evolution of the vineyard

Like its neighbor Marestel, the vineyard sector of Jongieux dates back to the 16th century but its history remains unknown. In the 1990's, it is with a real collective determination that the winegrowers undertook the reorganization and the regrouping of the hillside of Marestel and Jongieux to facilitate the work and the access to the vineyard but also to fight against the erosion and to reduce the parcelling out. The geographical name Jongieux was created in 1989.

Terroirs

In the heart of an exceptional setting between the Rhone and the mountains, at the crossroads of the Alps and the geological massif of the Jura, crossed by the GR9-GR65, the road to Santiago de Compostela, the vineyard reveals sumptuous landscapes that allow you to contemplate the softness of its hills and valleys. Between continental and Mediterranean climates, this sloping vineyard is composed of a more or less clayey soil and molasse. South West exposure.
