History and evolution of the vineyard

Located at the foot of the slopes of Mount Boisy in the commune of Sciez, the vineyard dates back to the creation of the Abbey of Filly founded in 930 under Rudolf II. As early as 1391, the monks established a model farm called the "Tour de Marignan" where they selected the best vine plants. The Guyons at the Château de Brenthonne and the cellars of the Tour de Marignan have been carrying on the wine-making tradition since 1934. One of the outbuildings, an 11th century fortified house, still houses the oldest cellar in Savoy. The AOC was recognized in 1973.

Terroirs

Close to Lake Geneva, the vineyard benefits from a western and south-western exposure on the gentle slopes of the western end of Mont de Boisy. The lake maintains a high hygrometric state. In addition, the sun's reflection in the afternoon on the waters of the lake accentuates the sunshine of the hillside. The soil of the Crépy plateau is geologically of limestone origin and results from an ancient moraine. In addition, part of it is constituted by the autochthonous Aquitanian molasse, a marl and sandstone formation that is more than 700 m thick.
